Head of Strategy 

  • This role focuses on setting direction, establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships, leveraging relationships

    to drive sales and revenue growth, identifying opportunities for funding, designing, testing and establishing new

    business and revenue models, and proliferating the use of data and insights – establishing a roadmap for

    transformation and growth of the business.

     

    As a senior executive reporting directly to the Managing Director, this trusted leader must have extensive

    knowledge of the education sector, be hungry to drive the business forward, and be eager to coach and partner

    with teams and peers. Experience working in the public K-12 education environment is a

    plus.

     

    Core Tasks and Responsibilities

    Strategy:

    · Lead the development and execution of strategic plan with the single-minded goal of growing the

    business. Facilitate strategic planning sessions and workshops with senior management.

    · Work with the leadership team to shape and define the strategic plan, articulating and refining our

    competitive advantage, key growth opportunities and trends, drawing on market data, customer and

    consumer feedback and developments in EdTech.

    · Shepherd new business models, applying the appropriate “kill/pivot” strategies when required.

    · Responsible for developing business cases and making recommendations for growth initiatives.

    · Ensure OKRs and KPIs are effectively developed, implemented and actively managed to drive

    towards its strategic goals.

    · Evangelize the purpose of the Strategy team, demonstrating and advocating for new principles and

    practices.

    · Oversee the change management process to ensure strategy initiatives have buy in and adoption by the

    PVS organization. Ability to craft clear and persuasive communication to build awareness.

    · Represent externally and internally at senior levels, including Executive Management

    team.

    New Revenue/Market/Corporate Development:

    · Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and potential acquisitions.

    · Develop and implement strategies to drive business expansion and revenue growth.

    · Build an investment and innovation framework aligned to the overall strategy, including an approach to

    investing in start-ups/early-stage firms working with colleagues across the business.

    · Work closely with senior leadership team colleagues to enable appropriate allocation of resources to

    incubation models, and expansion initiatives within existing lines of business

    · Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry leaders.

    · Negotiate and finalize agreements that enhance the organization's market position.

    · Aims to achieve balance between developing new relationships for medium/long-term growth and

    delivering more immediate opportunities

    · Develop and execute a strategic plan to unlock Federal and State/Local Government and other types of

    funding.
