Loan Servicing Associate
A leading financial services organization is seeking a skilled Loan Servicing Specialist to join its operations team. This position focuses on servicing both Non-Agented and Agented loans within the broader loan servicing department. The role involves managing a variety of tasks across the life cycle of loans and related securities, working closely with borrowers, lenders, and deal professionals. It offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in loan operations or accounting to contribute to the servicing of complex syndicated loans.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of broadly syndicated loans, with some transactions involving as many as 50 different lenders.
Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with borrowers, participating lenders, and deal professionals to ensure smooth operations.
Process all stages of the loan life cycle, including booking new transactions, processing principal payments, managing interest rollovers, and more.
Review and interpret credit agreements and related legal documentation to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with fund administrators to reconcile positions, P&L, and resolve cash breaks.
Perform daily book-to-broker cash reconciliations using Intellimatch or other systems.
Manage daily revolver activity and liaise with borrowers and deal professionals.
Input wires for loan settlement into the Kyriba treasury system in a timely manner.
Calculate Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and perform other financial analyses as required.
Additional Responsibilities:
Work closely with deal professionals, auditors, borrowers, lenders, trustees, legal teams, tax, treasury, and accounting teams to ensure the highest standards of service throughout the loan life cycle.
Analyze P&L, including realized and unrealized calculations, FX P&L on foreign securities, interest accruals, and cost relief analysis.
Coordinate the closing flow of funds, ensuring cash availability for settlement and working with treasury teams to execute all required wires.
Key Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in loan operations or accounting, ideally within a financial services or middle market lending environment.
Familiarity with Wall Street Office (WSO) and WSO Administrator/Agent, with knowledge of VPM and SAP-Business Objects considered a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to resolve issues and collaborate across teams.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, IF statements, pivot tables).
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
In-depth understanding of loan accounting principles, including pro-rata allocation, weighted average cost of paydowns, and GAAP accounting.
Knowledge of P&L analysis, economic benefit calculations, delayed compensation fees, par vs. distressed loans, and PIK (Payment-in-Kind) loans.
