Model Governance, Vice President

We are currently assisting a prominent financial institution in their search for an experienced Model Risk Manager to join their Model Risk Governance team within the broader Model Risk & Validation function. This team plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining policies, overseeing model risk reporting, and driving the identification of new models. The position offers flexibility with a hybrid work arrangement, combining both in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to continuously enhance the model identification process by improving existing workflows and collaborating with other teams to develop new procedures.

  • Manage the model candidate assessment process, working closely with the Model Risk & Validation team to ensure proper documentation of decision-making.

  • Oversee enhancements to the model risk management framework, including policies and procedures.

  • Support audit activities and examinations, leading remediation efforts when necessary.

  • Develop and refine model risk metrics reports, presenting findings to senior management.

  • Drive process and system improvement projects aimed at meeting internal audit and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, risk analytics, or risk consulting, ideally within financial institutions or consulting firms.

  • Experience with CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review) is preferred.

  • Proven project management experience and the ability to lead teams.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, PowerBI, and the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights.

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, VBA, or SQL is a plus.
