Model Governance, Vice President
We are currently assisting a prominent financial institution in their search for an experienced Model Risk Manager to join their Model Risk Governance team within the broader Model Risk & Validation function. This team plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining policies, overseeing model risk reporting, and driving the identification of new models. The position offers flexibility with a hybrid work arrangement, combining both in-office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead initiatives to continuously enhance the model identification process by improving existing workflows and collaborating with other teams to develop new procedures.
Manage the model candidate assessment process, working closely with the Model Risk & Validation team to ensure proper documentation of decision-making.
Oversee enhancements to the model risk management framework, including policies and procedures.
Support audit activities and examinations, leading remediation efforts when necessary.
Develop and refine model risk metrics reports, presenting findings to senior management.
Drive process and system improvement projects aimed at meeting internal audit and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, risk analytics, or risk consulting, ideally within financial institutions or consulting firms.
Experience with CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review) is preferred.
Proven project management experience and the ability to lead teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, PowerBI, and the Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, VBA, or SQL is a plus.
