Operations Associate
A leading investment firm is seeking a motivated Operations Associate to join its Operations team. This role is critical in supporting trading activities and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of trade data. The ideal candidate will have middle office experience from both the sell-side and buy-side, with expertise in credit default swaps (CDS), equity swaps, and fixed income. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the operational efficiency of a dynamic investment firm.
Key Qualifications:
2-3 years of middle office experience at a bank, followed by 1-2 years in buy-side operations preferred.
If coming directly from a bank, 5 years of middle office experience is ideal.
Proficiency with TradeServ and ICELink.
Experience handling Equity TRS and OTC derivatives processing, including lifecycle events such as swap resets.
Familiarity with equity-related corporate actions (splits, spin-offs, etc.).
Strong communication skills, with experience interacting with traders and portfolio managers.
VBA knowledge is a plus.
Experience with Enfusion OMS/PMS is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Reconcile daily trades, investment positions, and cash balances with external parties, including banks, prime brokers, counterparties, and custodians.
Review and process OTC long-form confirmations and electronic confirmations through platforms such as TradeServ, ICE, CME, and MarkitWire.
Maintain data integrity, ensuring accurate updates to the security master, fee/commission schedules, and holiday calendars.
Assist in developing and enhancing operational processes to improve efficiency.
Resolve settlement breaks for cash securities, including equities, bonds, and listed options.
Oversee the firm's end-of-day P&L process, identifying and addressing potential issues impacting profit and loss reporting.
