Payroll Administrator

A leading organization is seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely employee payments. This role involves handling payroll tasks, maintaining employee records, and processing payroll transactions in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with payroll systems, managing payroll for a large employee base, and resolving payroll-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll using UltiPro software, ensuring timely payments to employees and statutory agencies.

  • Manage payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, transfers, rate adjustments, address and work location changes, and garnishments.

  • Administer payroll for up to 1,000 employees on a weekly and bi-weekly basis.

  • Handle complex and sensitive payroll requests, resolving issues related to payroll processing.

  • Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate reports to ensure accuracy.

  • Process special payroll runs, such as bonuses and year-end adjustments.

  • Collaborate with HR and Benefits teams to address employee pay inquiries.

  • Resolve payroll-related issues, including vacation, sick leave, banking, garnishments, deductions, retroactive pay calculations, and tax concerns.

  • Assist with compliance matters, including government agency inquiries and payroll policy implementation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, Economics, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience supporting payroll and time management systems in a corporate environment.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. wage & hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and garnishment rules at federal, state, and local levels.

  • Experience managing multi-company, multi-jurisdiction payroll and tax processing preferred.

  • Ability to handle confidential payroll data with discretion and professionalism.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with UltiPro and IBM Cognos Business Intelligence is a plus.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is preferred but not required.
