Senior Associate - Valuations
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility for day-to-day oversight of the valuation process for all investments held within the Firm’s portfolios
Coordinates the process by which the Firm selects and engages external service providers to provide independent valuation services for illiquid assets
Acts as a strategic and trusted liaison between the Firm’s external service providers and the various front office groups that oversee the relevant investments
Reviews both front office and third-party valuation models by developing and maintaining a rigorous process to challenge and stress test underlying valuation inputs and assumptions using data from a variety of sources
Leads the quarterly reporting effort for the Valuation Committee for illiquid or “hard to value” investments
Plays a primary role in managing the relationship with the Firm’s external auditor with respect to valuations ensuring that the work product and evidence produced by our team meets evolving audit standards
Provides thought leadership on valuation policies, processes, controls and reporting by identifying and communicating industry best practices, trends and innovations
Participate by providing feedback in the technology related rebuild of the pricing system
Broad understanding of the regulatory framework pertaining to pricing and valuations
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 - 6 years of relevant experience
Bachelors degree required; Advanced degree a plus
Strong technical knowledge of financial markets and strong academic background
Experience building and maintaining private asset valuation models utilizing an array of industry standards models and methodologies
FAdvanced proficiency with full suite of Microsoft products required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Familiarity with other programming languages a plus: SQL, Python, R
