U.S. Head of Financing
The role includes overseeing the various financing activities of a multi-strategy U.S. hedge fund and benchmark-relative businesses. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with different business units across the firm, gain exposure to various trading strategies, and work in a technology- and data-driven environment to deliver best-in-class financing solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work in an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging working environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
You will lead the U.S. Financing team, whose core responsibilities include sourcing and optimizing leverage and financing for various trading strategies, inventory management to facilitate short positions, ensuring market access through counterparty-facing efforts, and disseminating color on financing markets across the firm. You will develop and maintain relationships with senior contacts at prime brokerages and financing desks at banks and other financial institutions. You will also be responsible for negotiating robust commercial terms to support financing activities. You’ll oversee complex margin arrangements for linear and non-linear trading strategies, and identify trends and dislocations in financing markets.
The Financing team works alongside trading desks across the firm: in addition to managing many of these internal relationships, you will oversee the monitoring and communication of financing market developments and emerging risks to ensure the proactive securing of financing capacity and mitigation of disruption to our trading strategies. You will also pursue automation capabilities for day-to-day activities and leverage technology to continually improve the function, liaising with the dedicated Treasury developer team to deliver these advancements.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
• A bachelor’s degree is required, as well as at least five years of experience in a buy-side Treasury position or on a relevant financing desk at an investment bank.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical capabilities are required, as are well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Applicants should be familiar with various financing arrangements, margining methodologies, Delta One products, and market-standard trading documentation, such as prime brokerage agreements and ISDAs.
• Experience collaborating with trading strategies to ensure financing activities align with investment objectives is required.
• A demonstrated interest in financial markets is essential to this role.
• Proven experience managing, mentoring and overseeing other financing professionals would be a distinct advantage.
