Valuation & Portfolio Reporting Analyst

  • An experienced Analyst is sought to join a Valuation and Portfolio Reporting team. The role involves supporting the quarterly valuation of portfolio companies, monitoring financial performance, preparing reports for stakeholders, and contributing to strategic initiatives such as fund cash flow analyses and fundraising efforts. This position requires close collaboration with investment team members, investor relations, legal staff, and finance team colleagues.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the quarterly valuation process for the portfolio:

      • Draft valuations for 25–30 private equity portfolio companies.

      • Collaborate with third-party providers for credit vehicle valuations.

      • Update public company comparable metrics and precedent transactions.

      • Present valuation results to the Valuation Committee.

    • Monitor portfolio companies:

      • Communicate with investment team members and portfolio company finance teams.

      • Prepare portfolio and asset-level reports using tools such as iLEVEL, identifying trends and potential risks for senior management.

    • Support strategic projects and performance tracking:

      • Assist in modeling projections for portfolio company exits and value creation projects.

      • Prepare quarterly and annual reports for stakeholders, summarizing performance.

      • Respond to investor inquiries and work closely with the investor relations team.

      • Conduct deal monitoring, including trend analysis, performance comparisons, and valuation impacts on overall fund performance.

    • Drive process improvements:

      • Enhance valuation and reporting processes, leveraging technology for greater efficiency.

    Requirements:

    • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience.

    • Strong understanding of valuation methodologies across asset classes, with an emphasis on equity and debt (direct lending).

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

    • Proven record of academic and professional excellence.

    • Proficient in financial statement analysis, accounting principles, valuation techniques, and financial modeling (e.g., DCF models).

    • Experience with portfolio monitoring systems such as iLEVEL is preferred.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, and S&P CapIQ.
