VP- Asset Management Audit
Essential Job Functions
Lead Asset Management Audits: Oversee audits and projects throughout the audit cycle, including:
Planning: Identify and evaluate key processes, risks, and controls; prepare audit programs and procedures for testing controls.
Executing Fieldwork: Conduct stakeholder interviews, document processes (e.g., narratives, walkthroughs, testing), and review staff workpapers.
Reporting: Draft audit findings, issues, and related action plans; prepare and communicate plans to address control deficiencies.
Documentation: Ensure key deliverables are documented, including Audit Announcement Memos, Audit Planning Documents, and Audit Reports.
Monitor Audit Budgets: Track budgets and key metrics, taking corrective actions as necessary and escalating issues to Internal Audit Management.
Relationship Management: Establish and maintain relationships with business lines and control functions.
Action Plan Oversight: Monitor and report on the status of action plans and conduct substantive tests of compliance as needed.
Ownership of Audit Universe: Take accountability for components of the audit universe, providing updates to risk assessments and staying informed about new activities, technologies, and processes that impact business risks.
Industry Knowledge: Maintain strong knowledge of industry and product developments.
Collaboration: Foster relationships and collaborate with team members.
Supervise Junior Staff: Guide and support junior team members in executing audits and projects.
Promote Values: Engage in the firm’s commitments to Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity and Inclusion.
Adhere to Ethics: Operate in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Code of Ethics.
Participate in Risk Assessment: Contribute to the annual risk assessment and planning process by proposing audits and budgets.
Identify and Address Gaps: Assess internal audit practices for gaps and propose solutions.
Lead Reviews: Plan and execute pre-implementation and post-mortem reviews as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: CPA, CIA, or CISA certification (or in progress) is preferred.
Understanding of Internal Auditing: Familiarity with auditing theory, techniques, control types, testing procedures, and related work paper standards; ability to evaluate control adequacy relative to risks.
Organizational Skills: Strong documentation skills, with the ability to write clear and cohesive process narratives, issue statements, findings, and action plans.
Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills; capable of presenting findings clearly and persuasively to stakeholders, both in-person and remotely.
Excellent Writing Skills: Ability to produce succinct and coherent documentation across various formats.
